An unused man's vintage silkhaoriwith a gorgeous hand-painted bunjinga-style landscape signed by the artist on the interior silk lining.
A light navy blue silk fushi tsumugi with navy blue hand-braided silk himo ties that hook on either side. The arms are lined in sky-blue silk and the back has a hand-paintedbujinga-style mountain landscape which features a group of three pine trees amid a rocky landscape of streams, waterfalls and distant mountains.
Tsumugiwas originally a peasant cloth made from left-over silk threads, but because of its artisanal nature it is now one of the most highly prized and expensive kimono fabrics.
In contrast to women's kimono, men's kimono & haori are typically in subdued, darker colours with subtle patterns and textures and the sleeves of a man’s kimono are generally attached to the body of the garment.
