Pink & Black Chirimen Furoshiki

Vintage pink chirimen furoshiki that has a large chequer-board background decorated with black & gold flower motifs. The name 'Kansai' appears near the edge of the furoshiki - Kansai is the name of an area in the west of the island of Honshu. Suitable for use as a  scarf.

Chirimen is a heavy lustrous crepe with a crinkled uneven texture created by the weft thread being kept tighter than the warp thread during weaving, while also being twisted. 

Furoshiki are traditional Japanese eco-friendly fabric squares that are used with simple cloth-folding techniques for wrapping gifts, clothes or other goods.
