Mens haori with Hand-Painted Landscape

An unused mens vintage silk haori with a gorgeous hand-painted bunjinga-style landscape signed by the artist on the silk lining.

A light navy blue lustrous silk fushi tsumugi with navy blue hand-braided silk himo ties that hook on either side. The arms are lined in sky-blue silk and the back has a hand-painted bujinga-style mountain landscape which features a group of three pine trees amid a rocky landscape of streams, waterfalls and distant mountains.

Tsumugi was originally a peasant cloth made from left-over silk threads, but because of its artisanal nature it is now one of the most highly prized and expensive kimono fabrics.
