A traditional Japanese kimono jacket with a light burdundy kanoko print on an off-white light-weight rinzu (damask) silk with a woven autumn grass pattern & a subtle satin sheen. The kanoko print incorporates a motif featuring three pine (matsu) trees on the brow of a hill.
Kanoko (fawn spots) are named after the resemblance to the spots on the back of a baby deer and is often created by shibori (a form of Japanese tie-dye), although in this case it is a print design. The haori is lined with plain cream silk and fastens with traditional hand-braided off-white silk ties.
Please note this is a vintage piece which has light-coloured starch spots on the silk lining, but it is wearable for those that can appreciate its vintage nature as they are not visible when the jacket is being worn.
