Butterfly stripe Chirimen Furoshiki

Vintage chirimen furoshiki that has diagonal grey & red stripes with a profusion of multi-coloured stylised butterfly an ume [plum] blossoms & petals.

Chirimen is a heavy lustrous crepe with a crinkled uneven texture created by the weft thread being kept tighter than the warp thread during weaving, while also being twisted. 

Furoshiki are traditional Japanese eco-friendly fabric squares that are used with simple cloth-folding techniques for wrapping gifts, clothes or other goods.
