Crimson Snow Grasses

An crimson-pink rinzu (damask) silk with a white overprinted abstract design representing snow in pampas grass. 

Susuki or pampas grass is one of the seven 'flowers of autumn' or aki-no-nanakusa and is usually represented by gentle arcs reminiscent of grass fronds. The haori is lined with a cream silk decorated with a print of traditional drums and fastened with hand-braided deep crimson pink silk ties.

Rinzu is a silk damask fabric in which a subtle, repeat satin pattern is woven onto a matte background.
