Dusty Rose Pink Shibori

Deep dusty pink vintage silk shibori haori created by the traditional artisanal Japanese craft of shibori, an intricate form of tie-dye.

A lovely haori with a white silk lining over printed with a stylised pale apple green karakusa pattern. Karakusa (literally 'a foreign or winding plant') is an ancient arabesque pattern brought to Japan from the middle east and is comprised of spirals influenced by vines and other natural forms.

The haori fastens with white hand-braided silk ties. This kimono jacket would be a great summer cover-up to go with jeans and a t-shirt on holiday or in the city.

Shibori is a traditional manual resist dyeing technique in which tiny sections of light-weight silk are bound with thread to produce the design before dyeing. Learn more about the art of shibori here
