An antique (c. 1950) Japanese silk brocade wallet with charming colorful woven images of Japanese nobles in traditional dress enjoying themselves in a landscape of willows, cherry & pine trees on a beige satin background. There are a man and a woman on horseback, the young men are carrying hunting bows and the ladies look to be dancing. Large enough to hold tissues, a face mask or other small items.
A slim wallet covered with brocade silk (kinran) with a woven mon or crest design that features circular flower motifs in purple, red, blue & green. The brocade pattern is arranged slightly differently on each wallet. This bag has a plain purple interior with a separate interior pocket and is fastened with a simple flat plastic toggle. This is an unused, deadstock item originally made to hold prayer beads.
