This pretty unused komon (small print) kimono has a dense all-overfloral karakusa design with a white silk lining and blue bokashi (ombre) silk hakkake (the inner cuff and hem of the lining). Karakusa (literally a foreign or winding plant) is an ancient arabesque pattern brought to Japan from the middle east is comprised of spirals influenced by vines and other natural forms.
