Pink Rinzu Kimono Jacket

Elegant plaster pink rinzu vintage silk haori with a shippo pattern. The shippo design consists of superimposed or overlapping circles or elipses in a way that the lines inside create more circles. The word shippo means precious stones in Buddhism. This design used to be popular in the Edo period and is said to be a symbol of harmony & good relationships.

The haori is lined with off-white silk decorated with a sparse maple leaf design and fastens with hand-braided off-white & day orange-pink ombre silk ties.

Rinzu is a silk damask fabric in which a subtle, repeat satin pattern is woven onto a matte background. This would work perfectly as a glamorous evening cover-up, but equally well with wide legged trousers for work wear.
