A lovely, unused, vintage chirimen silk kimono in a rich dark terracotta colour with a black print featuring sakura and ume blossom.
This bold print is created usingkatazomea resist dyeing technique in which rice paste is applied to the fabric through a handcut stencil before the silk is dyed. The kimono has a white silk inner and dark copper red silk hakkake (the inner cuff and hem of the lining). The lining has a small starch mark in the centre back.
